Chengdu Happy Valley Summer Guide

Chengdu Happy Valley is one of the best places to visit for a fun-filled day in the city! With a wide range of attractions, facilities, and special events, it’s the perfect weekend getaway. Whether you’re into thrilling rides, live music festivals, or family-friendly fun, Chengdu Happy Valley has something for everyone. In this guide, we’ll share some essential tips to help you make the most of your visit during the summer season.

Getting to Chengdu Happy Valley

By Car: If you’re driving, you can access the parking lot through Entrance 2 and Entrance 3 of Chengdu Happy Valley.

By Metro: The park is easily accessible by taking Line 6 and getting off at Xihua Avenue Station (西华大道站) (Exit D). From here, it’s a short walk of about 736 meters straight to the entrance.

By Bus: There are multiple bus routes that stop near Chengdu Happy Valley, including Line 48, 119, 715, 715A, and Community Bus 1061. You can also take Line 136 for a route on the inner side of the third ring road.

Park Hours: Maximize Your Visit Time

Opening Hours: The park is open daily from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, with the night sessions starting at 4:00 PM until 10:00 PM.

Water World Hours: Open from 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

On weekends or holidays, the park tends to be very crowded, so we recommend arriving early to avoid long queues. If you have flexibility in your schedule, visiting during weekdays is even better!

Things to Know Prepare Before Your Visit

Snacks and Water: It’s a good idea to bring your own snacks and water, as the park’s food and drinks can be quite expensive. Outside the park, near the main entrance, you’ll find plenty of food options like KFC, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, Burger King, and local snacks like rice noodles and noodles.

Water World Essentials: During the summer, Water World is one of the most exciting parts of the park, so don’t forget to bring swimwear! You’ll need to wear swimwear for most of the water attractions. Lockers are available at 30 RMB each, but unless you’re storing valuable items, it’s better to leave them on the racks near the pool.

Rain Gear: If you plan on going on the Rapid River ride and other water attractions, be sure to buy a raincoat in advance. The raincoats sold inside the park are expensive, but you can purchase them online ahead of time or buy from vendors outside the entrance at a lower price by haggling.

Season Pass: If you’re a local or plan to visit more than once, consider purchasing a season pass. It’s a great value, especially if you enjoy attending events like the electronic music festivals. With the season pass, you can access your favorite rides multiple times throughout the year!

Tickets and Re-entry: A single-entry ticket does not allow re-entry. Once you leave the park, you cannot return with the same ticket, so plan your visit accordingly.

Transportation Inside the Park: If you’re short on time or want a break from walking, you can take the park’s sightseeing bus for just 30 RMB per person. The bus is available at the same price regardless of size. Alternatively, you can rent a mobility scooter to move around faster.

Free Entry for Children: Children under 1.2 meters in height can enter for free, as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Sun Protection: Chengdu’s summer sun can be very strong, so make sure to take sun protection seriously! Bring sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses, and take breaks in the shade when needed.
