Museum Overview
The Sichuan Art Museum is not only a cultural hub but also the headquarters of the Sichuan Artists Association. Its architectural design is unique, resembling a “ruyi” (a traditional Chinese scepter symbolizing good luck), lying horizontally on the ground. The building consists of a multi-faceted main structure and a rectangular auxiliary building. The auxiliary building features a sloped roof, and when viewed from the front, the walls appear like a gracefully drawn curtain, offering a modern and artistic aesthetic.
Interior and Exhibitions
Ground Floor: The first floor features exhibitions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the heroic efforts of medical staff and the resilience of the public during the crisis. Second Floor: The second floor is currently not open to the public.
Third and Fourth Floors: These floors house the museum’s collection of fine art. In addition to prints, the museum holds works by renowned Chinese painters such as Huang Shen, Zheng Banqiao, Dong Qichang, Shitao, Wang Yuanqi, Ren Bonian, Jin Nong, Wu Changshuo, Zhang Daqian, Qi Baishi, and Xu Beihong.
