Huashuiwan Hot Spring Resort Area – Miraculous Waters

Huashuiwan Hot Spring Resort

Huashuiwan Hot Spring Resort (花水湾温泉), located in the heart of the Golden Tourist Route of Western Sichuan, is a picturesque town nestled between mountains and rivers. The area is renowned for its stunning scenery, lush green trees, and, most notably, the famous Huashuiwan Hot Springs. These hot springs have a unique origin, dating back over 40,000 years to ancient geological shifts in the Sichuan Basin. The ancient seawater penetrated deep into the earth’s layers, where it was heated by geothermal energy, resulting in spring water that reaches an impressive temperature of 68°C (154°F).

Huashuiwan Hot Springs are acclaimed as “High Mineral Medicinal Springs,” enriched with numerous trace elements beneficial to human health. These springs offer significant therapeutic value. Additionally, the hot springs are famous for their unique color-changing properties. As various mineral crystals precipitate in the water, the color gradually shifts from colorless and transparent to light green, green, dark green, gray-green, yellow, and milky white. This phenomenon has earned them the nickname “Miraculous Waters of Tianfu.”
